DREAMS
Prints have always been a
fascination for many of the fashion lovers, owing to the versatility in which
each of the single motifs takes different forms to create numerous designs and
possibilities. Every season, they have a way of hitting the runways &
retail shelves in some way or another, sometimes loud, at other times
understated and subtle. They give the designers the much needed challenge to
explore their creative boundaries, without losing the core essence of the
origin.
Among the endless varieties of
prints, one of my favorites is the all over, which gives room to experiment
though being utterly simple. Using two different printed fabrics with Indian
motifs, I‘ve stylized a pair of garments, both feminine & elegant in their
own ways. The first one is a completely ethnic rustic colored maxi with
gathered waist line, while the front slit playing peekaboo flashing off the
contrast leggings. Paired with metallic accessories, the retro flower at the
side of a casual bun completes the ensemble.
The other look is an allover floral
printed crop top & long skirt, combined with matching neckpiece, ear rings,
a red dot bindi & matching bun with side twists. The key to play around
with all over prints is just that to keep the accessories & make-up as
simple as possible, so to give a not too much crowded look in the end, and to
enhance the beauty of the repeated patterns.
